Hameau de la tuilière, 26230 Grignan
In this former farmhouse of the Château de Grignan, where the Marquise de Sévigné once lived, the Monteillet family has been passionately tending to its vineyards for four generations.
Spanning over 70 hectares, the Domaine de Montine extends its vineyards across three appellations: AOC Grignan-les-Adhémar, Côtes du Rhône, and Cru Vinsobres. Jean-Luc and Claudy, who succeeded their father in 1987, also cultivate 3 hectares of truffle oaks and 4 hectares of lavender.
The Monteillet family has been working their vineyards with the utmost respect for the environment for over twenty years. Their exceptional terroir imparts their wines with complex, highly characteristic aromas. The 70-hectare estate produces white wines with lovely apricot, peach, and floral notes; red wines with aromas of red fruits (blueberry, blackcurrant, licorice...), dessert wines, as well as rosé wines.
The family continues to employ all techniques to meticulously preserve the quality of their grapes: nighttime harvesting, thermoregulation... Yet, unquestionably, daily tastings during the vinification process remain the best way to monitor the evolution of their wine. The aging of their cuvées takes place slowly, protected from temperature fluctuations in an old vaulted cellar.
Starting from the 2024 vintage, the estate transitions to organic farming!
