216 Avenue Dr Nancel Penard, 33600 Pessac
Located in Pessac, near Bordeaux, Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest Bordeaux Grands Crus. It is also one of the 16 Graves Grands Cru Classés, which produces prestigious white and red wines. This major place of wine history is called after the name of its most well-known owner, Pope Clément V. In the property extending over 60 ha, you will find a centennial park and a glass room, built by Gustave Eiffel. Both are located next door to the Castel. 2009 was a historic turning point: the wine reviewer Robert Parker assigned Château Pape Clément the score of 100/100. This consecration is a genuine guarantee of quality and rewards many years of hard work in the vines.
Château Pape Clément welcomes you also in one of its sophisticated bedrooms or suites. Each of the 5 bedrooms is called after a vineyard’s name and is carefully decorated. This historic and charming setting assure you a luxury stay « à la française », in the middle of the park and of the Château Pape Clément vineyards.
Throughout the year, a wide range of visits and of unique wine tastings are proposed. With the B. Winemaker workshop, you will create your wine and go home with your own bottle. Experience a unique moment at Château Pape Clément in participating in one of the wine workshops, to fully awake your senses.
By combining tradition and innovation, the advanced technologies used at Château Pape Clément enhance the vines, which are aged 40 (red wines) or 20 (white wines). The pruning of the vine, the leaf removal and the wine-making process follow strict rules. The fruits derived from different parcels are vinified separately, what allows the grapes to develop unique aromas. The wine-making process is inspired by the sustainable agriculture.
The Château Pape Clément Grand Cru Classé red wine, with its ruby colour, offers fruity, floral or spicy aromas.
The Château Pape Clément Grand Cru Classé white wine presents a golden yellow with fruity citrus notes and apple aromas.
