161 rue du Chateau, 71570 Chasselas
It was thanks to his family that Jacky wanted to work the vineyard. Born in a family of winemakers for several generations, he learned from his grandfather who passed on his experience, teaching him the work of the vineyard and the art of vinification in the magnificent Land of the Golden Stones, in this luminous land.
In 1999, alongside Jean-Marc Veyron la Croix, they embarked on the adventure of wine in the castle of Chasselas. The two noblemen were moved by their love of wine and vineyard. The castle dating from 1523 went through many eras, it was built by the lords of Chasselas, it was then a relay on the road from Lutèce to Ludgunum. Before Jean Marc and Jacky, the castle knew no winemakers as owners but notables, merchants, soldiers…
The particularity of the castle is to have its 12 hectares of vines shared between Burgundy and Beaujolais. It produced several red wines, white wines, quality rosé wines and sparkling wines.
The Château de Chasselas, both owner and trader, makes you discover excellent wines. The gamay provides the Red Mâcon, the Beaujolais-Villages rouge, the Rosé and the famous Eternelle Rose – a rosé sparkling wine full of surprises! Chardonnays produce the famous Pouilly-Fuissé and Saint-Véran as well as the Crémant de Bourgogne. In addition, the Domain has been awarded the high environmental value label.
During your visit at the Château de Chasselas, you will be welcomed in Le Clos where you will have a general presentation of the estate and explanations about working in the vineyard, followed by a cellar tour. The visit will end with a tasting of the wines of the domain in the new tasting-sales area.
