Le Caveau du Château, located in Ampuis, in the heart of the famous Côte-Rôtie vineyard, also known as Clos Joly, is a 19th century residence belonging to the Demoiselles Joly at the time. The house was bought by the Vidal family at the beginning of the 20th century, then acquired by the Guigal family in the 1980s, renovated between 2017 and 2019, it becomes “Le Caveau du Château”.
Today, the Caveau du Château is a space dedicated to wine tourism, unique in the Rhône Valley, allowing you to discover the great wines of the Rhône Valley, in particular those of Maisons Guigal & Vidal-Fleury, Château de Nalys and Domaine de Bonserine, four properties of the GUIGAL Family presented around a unique oenological, sensory and taste experience.
You will have the opportunity to find the great appellations of the Rhône Valley (Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, etc.) through the great houses such as the Guigal and Vidal-Fleury houses but also the castle de Nalys and the domain of Bonserine.
When you come to the Caveau du Château, you will be offered a tasting of 4 Domaine Guigal wines: Condrieu (white), Vacqueyras (red), Gigondas (red), Côte-Rôtie (red).
You will also be able to discover before or after your tasting, the museum space dedicated to the work of the vine, the wine and the cooperage through many antique objects from the collection of the Guigal Family.
