69460 Odenas
Located in Odenas, the Château de La Chaize was built from 1674 to 1676. It remained within the Roussy de Sales family for more than three centuries, until its takeover in 2017.
Classified as a Historic Monument, the castle is a wine property that covers more than 400 hectares, including 150 hectares of vines, which makes it the largest single-piece Beaujolais estate.
Château de La Chaize has vines on the AOC Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly and Fleurie.
The unique layout of the castle creates an eco-system that allows the establishment of viticulture promoting soil life, the diversity of plant species and the sustainability of animal species.
And for the past few years, the château has been part of an environmental transition with the aim of converting their entire vineyard to organic.
With its 108 meters in length, you will discover one of the largest cellars in the world, designed in the 18th century, during your guided tour.
The tour will be followed by a tasting of three wines from the estate.
You can complete your tour with a free stroll in the estate to admire the architecture by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and the French garden designed by André Le Nôtre.
