The Château des Faures is a family-owned wine estate located in the Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, in the Gironde department of France. The estate has been in the family for three generations, and the current owners are passionate about winemaking and the terroir of the region.
The Château des Faures has a 30-hectare vineyard, planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grapes. The wines of the estate are known for their finesse, fruitiness, and aging potential.
Château des Faures offers a guesthouse service in the heart of the wine estate, to enjoy a well-deserved break amidst the Bordeaux vineyards.
The accommodation is in a typical 1873 Girondine house, renovated for utmost comfort, nestled in a peaceful wooded park where one can admire the Château de Monbadon overlooking the village.
The estate has three rooms, one of which is equipped for people with reduced mobility and labeled “Tourism & Disability”.
The vineyard tour includes a stroll through the vines, followed by an exploration of the cellar (with explanations from grape harvesting to bottling), inviting you to discover the art of winemaking.
The visit ends with a wine tasting of the estate's red and rosé wines:
- Red wines: "Château des Faures" which is a 100% merlot aged in stainless steel tanks and "Vieux Château de Noailles", a blend of merlot and cabernet aged in barrels;
- Rosé wine: "Rosé des Faures", 100% merlot harvested earlier than red wines.
