Château Meyre

16 Rte de Castelnau, 33480 Avensan

  • History of Château Meyre

The origins of Château Meyre date back to the Middle Ages when the first vines of the castle were cultivated. This historically rich place evolved to become one of Médoc's jewels in the late 19th century.

Its journey intertwining literature, wine, and gastronomy gives it a unique character. Colette Lenôtre, wife of the famous chef caterer, was once the owner. The Hetrakul family, from a distinguished Thai dynasty, acquired Château Meyre over 20 years ago, dedicating themselves to revealing the full potential of its wine.

  • Wines of the Estate

The estate spans 18 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation, recognized as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, and an additional 2 hectares in the Margaux terroir.

Pioneering environmental concerns, the Hetrakul family passionately embraces organic farming practices in the vineyard, earning recognition for their initiative in 2011.

The wines are crafted from complex blends of typical Médoc grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
