History of Château Bouscaut

The Bouscaut vineyard dates back to the 17th century and is located in Cadaujac, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation, just north of the Graves region.

Lucien Lurton, a well-known Bordeaux winegrower and already the owner of several prestigious estates in appellations such as Margaux, including Brane-Cantenac, and Barsac, including Climens, acquired Bouscaut in 1979.

In 1992, Sophie Lurton became the owner of this beautiful estate. Together with her husband, Laurent Cogombles, an agricultural engineer, she has continued to uphold the reputation of the château.

Travellers' review - Château Bouscaut

  • A perfectly orchestrated wine escapade

Booking with Vinotrip was very easy, and the organization was impeccable throughout. The road book is particularly well designed: all the essential information is included (addresses, châteaux contact details, descriptions of activities), so you can let yourself be guided with complete peace of mind. The selection of estates is of the highest quality, with some excellent discoveries such as Château Le Bouscaut, Château de Camarsac, Château Le Taillan and Château La Croizille. Each visit was an enriching experience, thanks to our passionate guides, whom we thank for sharing their knowledge with us. As far as accommodation was concerned, we stayed at Château Seguin, a magnificent place offering a spacious and very comfortable room. The only small point for improvement was the breakfast, which was slightly below standard. In terms of catering, everything was just right. Saturday evening's dinner at Titut was a pleasant surprise, both for the quality of the dishes and the warm welcome from the team. Sunday's lunch at Château Au Marquis de Terme in Margaux offered a top-of-the-range gastronomic experience, perfect to round off the weekend. In short, a successful stay from start to finish: seamless organization, top-quality services, magnificent discoveries and a great deal of pleasure for both the eyes and the taste buds. An experience I can wholeheartedly recommend!

  • Weekend in the Bordeaux region

The Vinotrip team was really responsive, both in terms of booking and communication with our partners to ensure that our stay went smoothly. Quality choice of châteaux in the various Bordeaux appellations. Very well organized, timings well respected, quality accommodation (very nice and breakfast on time), the restaurants on offer were well within our expectations, a good way of discovering some top addresses in terms of taste! As for the châteaux, the choice is marvellous, with a special mention for Château Bouscaut, where the guide's passion is immediately apparent. We wholeheartedly recommend this intoxicating weekend of discovery, where both the eyes and the taste buds will enjoy themselves to the full!

  • Pleased to meet you

Excellent stay: small group (around 6 people) or even a romantic visit for two for Château Bouscaut. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who was as friendly as everyone else we met over the 3 days. Good restaurants, good wines - we're really delighted and we'd recommend Vinotrip to wine lovers like us without any problem! Thank you vinotrip for a very successful anniversary!

  • Everything went perfectly

Our two-day tour of the Bordeaux vineyards went perfectly. All the appointments were made and everything went very smoothly. We learned a lot alongside people who were really passionate about their work. A trip to remember for magical moments. A special mention to Château BOUSCAUT for its white wine and the passion of two young women for their vineyard. An absolute must. Many thanks to you all. Best regards joel

  • Château Bouscaut Wines

Bouscaut’s terroir is mainly composed of clay and gravel soils over a limestone subsoil. The white grape varieties are planted in equal proportions of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
Combined with the estate’s terroir, they produce silky, highly aromatic white wines with excellent ageing potential.
A distinctive feature within the appellation is that the red wines are predominantly Merlot, bringing suppleness and roundness, balanced by the power of the terroir. Cabernet adds structure, while Malbec brings a touch of exotic character, with peppery notes.

  • Wine experiences at the Château

Château Bouscaut welcomes you for a guided tour of the estate and its cellars, followed by a tasting of the château’s wines, served with a carefully selected cheese platter.
You can also extend the experience with an overnight stay on the estate, at the Château Valoux guesthouse.
