The first vines were planted in 1552 by Pierre Lhomme, rich Bordeaux draper. The adventure was running and the successors of the rich merchant knew in turn make their contribution to this wonderful building. In 1995, Eric Albada Jelgersma, Dutch businessman to take over the farm and began a meticulous restoration of the vineyards and the renovation of buildings to restore the nobility befitting the Third Grand Cru 1855.
In the Margaux appellation, in the towns of Labarde and Arsac, the soil Giscours has all the qualities required to produce a great wine.
Serious composing play a vital role, reflecting the sun’s rays and now some night temperature: dream conditions for respect ripening of the grapes. Today the vineyard Giscours includes 300 hectares, including 93 hectares in the Margaux appellation.
