Heir to a family tradition dating back to 1795 when his grandfather, Jean-Martin Geyl plowing the vines and made wine, Jean-Christophe Bott has been operating Domaine Bott-Geyl since 1993 and works in low yields , converts the field in organic farming in 2000 and biodynamic in 2002, manages his wine in a natural and minimalist way: it is the art to converge tradition and modernity, sustainability of the vineyard and ecological concern. It is also obvious because everything happens in the vineyard, and only a high quality grape used to dream a great wine.
The 75 field plots cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture are spread over 7 towns , Ribeauvillé Kientzheim, in the central sector of the "Pearls of the Vineyard." Today, the area cultivated 14 hectares including 5 Grands Crus and 3 Localities.
The philosophy of the field can be summarized as: intervene minimally in the process of transforming grape juice into wine, letting nature take its course, to return in the bottle reflects the terroir and the vintage.
