The field of Lynch-Bages,located in the Medoc, near the town of Pauillac, has a particularly revealing the name of its history.
Indeed, the term "Bages" means the hamlet sheltering from the 16th century generations of winemakers; as to that of "Lynch", it specifies the name of the owners from 1749 The estate was sold in 1824 to Sebastian Jurine, a wine merchant in Geneva, and is under the management of his son André-Louis, through that will access it under Fifth Classified Growth in 1855, established by Napoleon III. After many purchases,redemptions and negotiations, the property is now managed by the Cazes family.
The vineyard covers one hundred hectares. From 1934, Jean-Charles Cazes innovates, and says "Lynch-Bages" style. The requirement and quality have always been and remains the watchwords of this area highligfhting its philosophy of “lifestyle wine”.
Château Lynch-Bages opens its doors to visitors for wine discoveries, gastronomic, cultural and historical. In 2010, the higher Council of Tourism awarded to the Cazes Family of Honor Award “Pioneer wine” and in January 2011, the Revue des Vins de France designates as ”Best Home in the vineyard 2010”.
