In 1984, he founded Maison Olivier Leflaive in the heart of Burgundy’s wine country. Over the years, it has become a distinctive name in the Côte de Beaune, known for its elegant wines and deep connection to the great terroirs of Burgundy.

  • Exceptional

    Everything was perfectly organized. The hotel at Olivier Flaivre was superb, with very friendly staff and a remarkable welcome. The gourmet restaurant Le Montrachet was exceptional. The tours and tastings at Maufoux, in Pommard, and in Aloxe-Corton were very enjoyable and informative. In short, it was flawless. Thank you to Vinotrip. Once again, we weren’t disappointed by the concept.

    At Olivier Leflaive: an interesting and humorous visit. A delicious meal with a wine tasting led by a knowledgeable and friendly oenologist. At Château Saint-Aubin: a very interesting tasting with a small, enthusiastic group. A dreamy room decorated with great taste. A fantastic breakfast prepared and served by a lovely lady. At Debray, we enjoyed a cellar tour and an informative, down-to-earth tasting. We can only congratulate Vinotrip on their choices and flawless organization.

  • Saint-Aubin - Vinotrip Weekend

    I treated my husband to a Vinotrip this weekend, and we had a fantastic time. The tours were top-notch: original and full of humor at Olivier Leflaive, a fascinating tour led by the passionate Oscar at Prosper Maufoux, and an informative one at Domaine Debray. The tastings were excellent. Lunch at Maison Leflaive and dinner at Restaurant Prosper were truly delicious. We stayed at the Domaine de Saint-Aubin in a charming, tastefully decorated room. Breakfast was delicious and served by a warm and wonderful lady. I highly recommend Vinotrip weekends, which allowed us to discover Burgundy and some truly exceptional places.

  • Beautiful discovery of Burgundy

    We really enjoyed the visit to the Domaine Leflaive winery, with commentary by Mr. Olivier Leflaive, a very friendly and dynamic man who knows how to present things in simple ways with a touch of humor. The tasting during lunch was fine, but we would have preferred to have had some advice on the wines before ordering the meal. The wine and food pairing would have been even better. The welcome at Château de St Aubin and the large, beautiful room were perfect. The tasting deserved more detail on the wines. The visual, olfactory and gustatory discoveries should have been commented on after everyone had had a chance to make up their own minds, to enable a better understanding, even if everyone has a different perception. The discovery of Domaine Yvonnick Debray by a passionate owner was very interesting. Beware of the prices of the wines, which were a little too high compared with the other 2 estates visited the day before, which were more renowned.

  • Superb discovery of Burgundy

    Superb trip to discover Burgundy and its wines. I loved the visit to the Leflaive estate, the explanation in the vineyards, the welcome at the restaurant, the lunch and commented wine tasting, the availability of the bike at the château de Saint-Aubin, the visit to the cellar and winery, and the wine tasting. The room at Château de Saint-Aubin was spacious, chic and quiet, with a view over the vines. We also made a wonderful discovery of the Yvonnick Debray estate, with passionate explanations from the young cellar master. The only downside was that the price of the wines from the latter estate was higher than those from the two previous, more renowned estates. Beware of the Burgundy effect on prices! I didn't take the cooperage workshop, but I do recommend a visit to the Hospices de Beaune.

    A superb stay, very well organized. A barrel workshop to discover, a visit to Domaine Debray and the quality of the wine tasting, a very nice room at Chateau de Saint Aubin at Domaine Maufroux, a superb dinner, a visit to the cellars with a passionate young woman, average wine tasting, and lunch with a tasting of wines from Maison Leflaive, a magnificent moment. Highly recommendable, we're very happy, a wonderful discovery.

    Great stay. A warm welcome from everyone! 5 * From the guest house (La Maison Rouge), the food and wine tasting (Comté Senard), the gastronomy at the Olivier Leflaive restaurant and the Maison aux Mille Truffes - The only downside was the marbled ham, served at several meals over three days.

    Welcomed at Maison Prosper Maufoux by Pascale, the absolutely divine and warm hostess, dinner at Le Terroir restaurant with service worthy of a gastro, a very instructive visit to the vineyards with Olivier Leflaive, tasting at Domaine DEBRAY...     A set of high services starting with the Maison Olivier Leflaive, a table d'hôtes and a superb tasting!!!! A guest room at Prosper Maufoux, far superior to a 3-star hotel! And last but not least, a very professional welcome at Domaine Debray. A totally successful stay, highly recommended!

  • Pleasant weekend

    We began with a visit to Maison Leflaive, where we were warmly welcomed. The visit was instructive on the geology and life of the vines at the heart of the estate. During lunch, with commented wine tasting, we appreciated the availability of the staff. We left at 3pm, which was perfect because our second stop was at 4:30pm. We visited the Prosper Maufoux winery and enjoyed a wine tasting. We stayed in the Prosper Maufoux guest rooms, where the decor blends old and new to perfection. The breakfast was copious and exquisite. The place wouldn't have had the same charm without the kindness and availability of our hostess. Dinner at the terroir restaurant was perfect, and we appreciated the advice and explanations on the wines, as well as the wine/dish combinations. The chambre d'hôte was just across the street from the restaurant, so we didn't need to take the car. The art of the barrel, Mr. Gillet, a man passionate about his craft. A very rewarding discovery, with an educational workshop that we particularly enjoyed. Visit to the cellar of Château de Corton André with wine tasting. Pleasant welcome with a commented tasting of quality wines. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the welcome and the availability of all our hosts.

    Excellent variety of activities. Maison Olivier LEFLAIVE: Very interesting visit to the vineyards. Visit to the cellar. Great availability of our various contacts. Good explanations on winemaking. Lunch with tasting of (6) wines. Excellent meal. High quality wines. Visit to the Cave du Domaine DEBRAY in BEAUNE with the Cellar Master. Very warm welcome. Good complement to the first visit. Our questions became more technical. .... Maison PROSPER MAUFOUX in SANTENAY. Excellent welcome. Discovery of the "Château" cellars (15th century). Tasting of 8 high quality wines (4 whites, 4 reds). The rooms are magnificent. Great breakfast. The hostess is divine. Dinner at Restaurant "Le Terroir" (located on the same square) Excellent table. Discovery of the cooperage. Extremely warm welcome. Lots of availability. The visit lasted nearly 3 hours. Great professionalism from Frédéric GILLET. We even "made" our own barrel. An exceptional morning. Visit to Château de CORTON ANDRE in ALOXE CORTON. Magnificent château. Good (unaccompanied) tour of the cellars. Excellent tasting. Super tour. Great discovery of BOURGOGNE. Wonderful memories. Excellent organization. Excellent choice of actors. To be recommended.

  • great break with very welcoming Burgundians

    We spent the last weekend of April in Burgundy. Despite the capricious weather, it was a great experience. Arriving the day before (we booked a room directly in Meursault - Les Ecureuils, a pleasant guesthouse in a quiet location), we started with a visit to Olivier Leflaive's vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet. Great time, very instructive to understand everything between the vines, with explanations and very pedagogical anectotes from Regis, sommelier / animator of the domain. The comparative tasting/luncheon was perfect, as we were able to relax in a small lounge and chat with each other and with Regis in a relaxed, fun way. A fine crescendo in the estate's range. On to the Buffet family estate in Volnay, a warm welcome in the cellars and a vertical tasting of a Volnay 1er cru with great potential (but to be waited for in the cellar for a few years). Periple between the vines towards Santenay at the Proper Maufoux house (superb cellar on the ground floor), nice welcome with a bottle of Montrachet 1er cru to finish at the apero in our luxurious, comfortable and SUPER quiet room. Dinner at l'Oeillette, very good but service a little slow. Gargantuan breakfast at Maison Maufoux. Finally, a tasting at the magnificent Chateau d'Aloxe Corton, where despite the absence of a visit to the chateau, we spent a convivial moment with a young sommelier from the estate who showed us a very wide range of red wines (including the magnificent Clos Vougeot 2009), with good humor and availability. We finished with a walk in the vineyards on the heights of Aloxe Corton, between parcels of Corton Charlemagne and 1er cru d'Aloxe Corton, where the differences in soil and grape varieties are less than 1 meter! In short, a great weekend of discovery. We came away with a good basic knowledge of Burgundy wines, and all the people we met were incredibly welcoming and smiling. We'll be back!

  • I'll be back

    A well-thought-out sequence of sites for the distances and times between them. No stress as a result, bravo for this organization. It would be a good idea, however, to indicate the approximate journey times in the route sheet. As far as I'm concerned, the GPS did the job. Thanks to the Leflaive family, to Sylvain Cholet for his warm welcome and to the oenologists, all of whom provided us with information in an educational, passionate and often humorous way. I won't go into detail about the excellent dinner at "Montrachet" (top-of-the-range) and the equally excellent lunch at "La Miotte", which was both simple and convivial. In short, a weekend in the Burgundy vineyards, with tastings of wines renowned the world over for their quality, just 3h30 away, went by too quickly.

    In the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, Maison Olivier Leflaive, an authentic 17th century building overlooking the village square, offers seventeen charming rooms and two suites with terraces. At the head of the hotel, Julie Leflaive, 19th generation, made a point of highlighting the family tree. Here everyone has their own room with the story of each character in the Leflaive family.
    Exposed beams, cut stones, large volumes and wooden floors give the place authenticity to remind visitors that Burgundy is a land of tradition. Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Pop, Modern or a touch of retro touches reflect this family saga.
    The interior garden of the house is an invitation to tasting. At the table, the dishes are simple and always paired by great wines.

    With its 100 hectares of harvested vines and its 82 climats including the famous Grands Crus Bâtard-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Montrachet, the estate gives pride of place to these famous “Burgundy climates” while respecting traditional techniques. Like the very famous Puligny-Montrachet, all the cuvées bear the brand and the personality of the Burgundy appellations.
    In order to make great wines, Olivier Leflaive keeps control over winemaking and aging. Harvesting by hand, aging in barrels perfectly managed by its passionate team, the know-how of the House signs elegant wines. The whites are extremely fine, the reds have a perfectly controlled intensity.

    Very involved in wine tourism, Maison Olivier Leflaive offers tours of the vineyards to discover the famous climates of Burgundy, these historically delimited plots that give the wines their distinctive features. The nature of the subsoils and its influence, the classification of the wines, then the work of the vines and the winemaker, this visit gives the keys to understanding Burgundy wines.
    The estate also offers cellar tours. The visit reveals the secrets of the harvest, fermentation, aging and bottling. Commented wine tastings (from appellations such as: Puligny-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, Meursault, Saint-Romain, Corton-Charlemagne, ..) and lunches around typical Burgundy dishes are also offered.
